This is the official international festival of the Gullah/Geechee Nation.
Gullah/Geechee Holy Days Celebration Hosted by Barnes and Noble
The Destiny Community Café in North Charleston, SC is a “Pay-What-You-Can” café that has evolved from not only feeding the body, but to also feeding the mind. In October, they did the ribbon cutting for the “Queen Quet Gullah/Geechee Legacy Library.” This effort is being supported by Barnes and Noble. The West Ashley store in Charleston and the North Charleston store are locations where donations of Gullah/Geechee and Black history books for all ages can be donated for the library via the “Gullah Geechee” Saturday Series for Destiny Community Café Book Drive.
#GullahGeechee Appreciation Final Day at the Destiny Café
The concluding event for Gullah/Geechee Nation Appreciation Week will be a dinner and awards ceremony entitled “Honoring 400 Years of History” on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at 3 pm. Folks can RSVP on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/events/487155375386641/.

Jasper County, SC has proclaimed “Gullah/Geechee Nation Appreciation Week 2019!” This year, Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation (www.QueenQuet.com) will actually present in that county on August 1, 2019 at 5 pm at the Morris Center for Lowcountry Heritage.
