Gullah/Geechee Nation 25th Anniversary Celebration Heats Up This Summer
The Gullah/Geechee Nation has been celebrating its 25th Anniversary since February. This is also the 25th Anniversary of Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation. Therefore, activities have been held in all four states already and the journey from Jacksonville to Jacksonville continues over the coming months. Queen Quet is calling for all the Gullah/Geechee Nation’s citizens and global supporters to come out and be a part of the fun and authentic cultural enrichment!

Gullah/Geechee Bottle Tree at the Bluffton Gullah Cultural Heritage Center
The Bluffton Gullah Cultural Heritage Center is set to make history with the unveiling of the tallest and largest custom bottle tree ever crafted in the United States. This remarkable twin bottle tree exhibit unveiling is part of the lead-up to the grand opening of the first-ever Gullah Cultural Heritage Center in the Bluffton-Hilton Head area—a space dedicated to honoring the rich legacy and contributions of the Gullah/Geechee people.

March is “Gullah/Geechee Volunteer Month” and “Women’s Herstory Month.” Those that are interested in celebrating both and participating in events that are centered on healing can join Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation on historic St. Helena Island, SC in the Gullah/Geechee Nation for “Gullah/Geechee CREATE Day” and again as she provides the keynote at the College of William & Mary in Virginia.
