We have been truly blessed this year with more and more people not only learning about the Gullah/Geechee Nation, but also giving to helping our culture remain alive on Gullah/Geechee owned land. With the millions of postings online, people are often unclear on what is authentically Gullah/Geechee. In order to insure that the economic support is sent to the organizations, institutions, and businesses that are Gullah/Geechee owned and operated, we continue to post via our social media @GullahGeechee on Twitter and Instagram and via our www.GullahGeecheeNation.com and the Gullah/Geechee Nation Facebook Fan Page (@GullahGeecheeWEBE). We encourage you to follow and support us.
As we now approach Giving Tuesday, we want to make folks aware of why this is such an important day in the Gullah/Geechee Nation. Giving Tuesday started in 2012 in the United States. It was founded by the 92nd Street Y nonprofit as a rallying cry to encourage people to donate to their favorite causes. The Giving Tuesday movement is now in over 70 countries including the Gullah/Geechee Nation. In 2019, $500 million was raised online. Charitable causes are in need of even more support this year due to the pandemic. So, we are calling on all of our supporters to make donations to these Gullah/Geechee fundraising efforts and to share the information with your networks:

To that end, we are working with photographer, Jeanne Moutoussamy-Ashe to fully endow the scholarship fund. You can learn more about this effort here:
