#Juneteenth Drum Call for Justice

Begin Juneteenth with A Drum Call for Justice presented by Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation (www.QueenQuet.com) at the opening of “A Hunger for Justice” Juneteenth Broadcast.

The day will be filled with powerful speakers taking a stand for land rights and food sovereignty:

This Friday, June 19th is a commemoration of the emancipation of slavery known as Juneteenth.

In observance of Juneteenth, A Growing Culture will host a daylong broadcast of The Hunger for Justice Series, celebrating Black voices and the fight for justice in the food system. The Juneteenth Broadcast will be held as a live event simulcast across AGC’s digital channels, with over a dozen presenters beginning with Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation (www.QueenQuet.com).

A Growing Culture is committed to solidarity with the Black community in the fight for a just food system. Our intent for The Juneteenth Broadcast is to turn our platform over to Black voices in the food system to share and hold space.

Furthermore, the Juneteenth Broadcast is an invitation to the world — to corporations, foundations, donors, and allies — to see, hear and support these voices.
