Queen’s Chronicle: Journey to the Land of Queens and Pharaohs Part 1
I found myself overlooking the pyramids feeling this power emanating to and through me. The word “empowerment” took on an entirely new meaning when watching the sunrise and set in this land of queens and pharaohs. Many solely see a pyramid as a place of death whereas others see it as I do, as a place of healing energy and the apex as a location of higher consciousness. In the midst of the power of the sun above the apex of the pyramid, your energy is centered and balanced and your spiritual power is renewed. Renewal is what is going to take to transmit this power and these ideals to the world because we must each seek transformation-“…be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2b). It may just take coming to a land like this to be with others of like mind to find that renewal or it may simply take a moment of prayer and meditation as the sun sets not only over the pyramids or the Red Sea in Sinai, but over a sincere person that at the end of every day simply seeks to continue purposefully walking in all lands seeking order, balance, truth, reciprocity, harmony, righteousness, morality and justice. Wherever, the next steps take me, I pray as I do in our Gullah/Geechee Spiritual, “Walk with Me Lord!”
Gullah/Geechee Human and Land Rights: Ending Racism and Injustice to Bring About Environmental and Cultural Equity
Join Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation (www.QueenQuet.com) and Founder of the Gullah/Geechee Sea Island Coalition for a joint meeting of the Unitarian Church in Charleston’s Racial Justice Coordinating Team and Green Sanctuary Team.
The evening will allow the audience to engage in an interactive dialogue at the Unitarian Church of Charleston’s Gage Hall on May 20, 2022 at 7 pm centered on “Gullah/Geechee Human and Land Rights: Ending Racism and Injustice to Bring About Environmental and Cultural Equity.”

The CHOW 2021 conference will take place virtually from June 8th to 10th. CHOW 2021 will examine how exclusionary practices and systemic racism impact conservation, science, and policy; and how strengthening diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice will improve the sustainability of our ocean, coasts, and Great Lakes. The CHOW 2021 program will explore the intersection of people and the environment and how we ensure that all communities have equal access to opportunities to maintain a healthy environment to live, learn, and work. GOD is in the Grassroots
As an organizer of grassroots activism, I have witnessed how a grassroots movement gets something going and how those that do not want to do the hard work, sit safely away from the issue, but once they think that this issue is now one of financial benefit or media attention, they position themselves to walk in for the harvest. GOD repeated to me, “I am in the grassroots.”

Within less than one month, native Gullah/Geechees have come together much in the way that they did 21 years ago when they stood together to stand on their human right to self-determination. The recent wave of Gullah/Geechee unity managed to get four different white / Anglo owned companies to rebrand their products and no longer use the words “Gullah,” “Geechee” or “Geechie” to culturally and economically exploit the Gullah/Geechee people and their name.
A 40 Year Stand for Gullah/Geechee Land
If our ancestors had this much belief in the intelligence among our people back in 1865 to maintain their freedom, I will not give up on believing that we still have it now! The Gullah/Geechee Nation came into existence because there were those amongst us that wanted to maintain our freedom and continue our culture on our land. Webe self-determined Gullah/Geechee!

Queen Quet (www.QueenQuet.com) has spent four decades of her life fighting to prevent the genocide of her people and insuring that Gullah/Geechee culture will not only continue to exist, but that it will also be represented accurately and respectfully. She has successfully won many land rights cases and gotten laws changed in favor of the Gullah/Geechee people. She has repeatedly returned to the United Nations and continues to serve on international boards working to insure the continued sustainability of the environment of and the cultural heritage within the Gullah/Geechee Nation from Jacksonville, NC to Jacksonville, FL.
