The South Carolina coast has been celebrating “Gullah/Geechee Nation Appreciation Week” since it began in the City of Charleston in 2012. As usual, every county that makes up the South Carolina Lowcountry excluding Horry County has participated in proclaiming the celebration.
Throughout #GullahGeechee Nation Appreciation Week, people are encouraged to support Gullah/Geechee businesses online and in person. There are also institutions that should be visited and events to attend. People should partake of these activities at their own leisure:
Support www.GullahGeechee.biz in order to gear up for the event and learn more about the historical legacy of the Sea Islands of the Gullah/Geechee.
