Afro-Atlantic Legacies Gullah/Geechee Movie Screening and Discussion
Tune in to this special Black History Month screening and discussion of the documentary, Memorias Afro-Atlanticas which follows the footsteps of the father of Gullah/Geechee linguistics, Dr. Lorenzo Dow Turner from the Gullah/Geechee Nation to Brazil.
The documentary centers on the continuation of the Afro-spiritual practice of Candomblé . Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation (www.QueenQuet.com) is featured in the film and will host the screening and discussion with the filmmakers that made this historic reconnection of the African Diaspora take place.
