
Pender County Proclaims Gullah/Geechee Nation Appreciation Week
Pender County, NC has joined in with the rest of the counties of the Gullah/Geechee Nation to proclaim its first “Gullah/Geechee Nation Appreciation Week!” By doing so, it has become the second area of North Carolina to participate in this annual celebration which focuses on the continuation of Gullah/Geechee culture and traditions throughout the Gullah/Geechee Nation.
Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation chose to share the proclamation from the location where her family historically grew Carolina Gold given the wording within the proclamation. Tune een fa yeddi de proclamation ya:
