Come out to the Penn Center National Landmark Historic District and Reconstruction Era National Historic Park for a day of true Gullah/Geechee Famlee fun and edutainment. The day will be filled with Gullah/Geechee crafts, music, traditions and cultural heritage presentations and Black history tours of this historic campus, the Reconstruction Era National Historical Park and the York W Bailey Museum.
This event is not only the annual Gullah/Geechee Famlee Reunion that brings together native Gullah/Geechees throughout the Gullah/Geechee Nation and from around the world, it also serves as a fundraiser for the Gullah/Geechee Land & Legacy Fund:

Each year the fund contributes to a non-profit to support on-going programming and sustainability of institutions as well. This year, the event is being held at historic Penn Center in order to help raise funds for the building renovations that are underway and help with the overall sustainability of this institution that has been standing since 1862. Please make sure to bring donations with you to help keep keep Gullah/Geechee people on our land and to help support the historic district where the event will be held.
