
Gullah/Geechee Nation Appreciation Week 2021
De Gullah/Geechee Nation is celebrating its 21st year. July 2, 2021 marked the 21st anniversary of the enstoolment of Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation (www.QueenQuet.com) and the day of the declaration of the Gullah/Geechee Nation as another nation of the world. The 21st anniversary celebration will continue throughout the month with the major events being held during “Gullah/Geechee Nation Appreciation Week.”
“Gullah/Geechee Famlee Day” launches “Gullah/Geechee Nation Appreciation Week” on historic St. Helena Island, SC on Saturday, July 31st from Noon to 3 pm. Git hunnuh pass ya:
On Sunday afternoon, August 1, 2021 at 3 pm a new park in Brunswick, GA will be unveiled in honor of veterans. A libation and memorial tribute to honor Gullah/Geechee military veterans will be held at the monument. The site is now named Gullah/Geechee Situation Park to salute these Gullah/Geechee veterans for their outstanding and selfless service and sacrifice.
The honored guest for this event will be Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation(www.QueenQuet.com) who is celebrating 21 years as the Queen Mother and “head pun de bodee” for the Gullah/Geechee Nation and will be celebrating her Queen Quet Day for Brunswick.
We encourage folks to praise at Gullah/Geechee worship centers and then come to Brunswick for the event.
Monday, August 2, 2021 Gullah/Geechee Moments at Monuments Day-Go out and support historic sites and monuments throughout the Gullah/Geechee Nation and learn the Gullah/Geechee stories affiliated with them. Tune in to www.GullahGeechee.tv ahead of time to learn some of the locations that are directly related to native Gullah/Geechees. Tuesday, August 3, 2021 Gullah/Geechee Tours and Travels-Support native owned Gullah/Geechee Tours throughout the Gullah/Geechee Nation in order to learn ourstory accurately.
