
Queen Quet of de @GullahGeechee Kickoffs Summer Reading Program at Colleton County Memorial Library
The Summer Reading Program at Colleton County Memorial Library is going to begin on June 18, 2021 at 10 am with a live presentation at the kickoff done by Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation (www.QueenQuet.com). Queen Quet has been a part of this program for over two decades.

Every year she shares an aspect of Gullah/Geechee culture with the audience and this year will be no different. Yeddi wha e gwine share fa “Tails & Tales.”
According to Colleton County Memorial Library’s Children’s Coordinator, Miss Shiela Keaise, the lineup for activities includes a new YouTube video for promoting the children’s summer reading program. There will also be in-person events, such as the kickoff event with Queen Quet, held on the library’s lawn. The rain location will be inside the children’s meeting room. We always encourage literacy rain or shine.
