Enhancing Financial Literacy and Building Wealth @GullahGeechee

“Financial Literacy Month” is celebrated annually in April in the United States and Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation calls on citizens of the Gullah/Geechee Nation to participate in the month long celebration in order to protect the assets in the Gullah/Geechee Nation and to build wealth for the next generations. This year she started off the celebration via a dialogue with financial coach, Felicia Gomes-Gregory of “Heels and Higher Achievement” (www.HeelsHigh.org).

Tune in to Gullah/Geechee TV (GGTV) to hear this rich discussion:

Not only has Queen Quet hosted Felicia Gomes-Gregory on Gullah/Geechee Riddim Radio for a discussion of “Profiting During the Pandemic,” and “Making the Black Family Healthy and Wealthy,” she previously shared on the lives of outstanding Black business people and philanthropists including Madame C J Walker, Maggie Lena Walker, A G Gaston, and S B Fuller (http://www.blogtalkradio.com/gullahgeechee/2016/02/23/gullahgeechee-black-economics-and-black-history).  She took listeners on a journey through the origin of this month and how the exercises at the website for the month are applicable and beneficial: http://www.financialliteracymonth.com/About.aspx to Gullah/Geechee individuals and families.

Financial literacy should be a daily part of life.  So, after tuning in to these broadcasts, take some time to sit beneath a majestic oak tree along the coast of the Gullah/Geechee Nation and read and enlighten yourself financially!
