They will discuss heirs property and how to protect and continue the Black land ownership legacy.
Queen Quet and Attorney Heyward both were commissioners on the inaugural Gullah/Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor Commission. They wrote the section on land and heirs property for the Corridor’s General Management Plan. They have jointly held several heirs property workshops in Charleston and on St. Helena Island, SC in the Gullah/Geechee Nation.
