#ClimateAction 2019 @Gullah/Geechee

While the United Nations Climate Action Summit served to be a series of speeches which spoke of plans and not concrete outcomes of actions taken to combat climate change, Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation (www.QueenQuet.com) joined the thousands of people around the world that stood firm on actual action steps. Queen Quet has spent this year testifying in the United States Congress, the South Carolina General Assembly, participating in United Nations Ocean Action activities, and will proceed to the United Kingdom to help launch the Climate Heritage Mobilization Network. Her message about climate change has been consistent as seen on Now This News:

She elevated the message and activated students at the Climate Crisis Moment #ClimateAction Rally in Charleston, SC:

This rally took place one year after Queen Quet received a standing ovation and resounding applause at the Global Climate Action Summit:

The Gullah/Geechee Nation which is a member of the International Alliance to Combat Ocean Acidification has not only released their Ocean Action Plan which is a component of their overall Gullah/Geechee Sustainability Plan, they are also consistently partnering with groups and other nations around the world to be an active part of increasing the capacity of the global community to change daily actions so that the negative impacts of climate change can be reversed. To that end, they continue to call on global supporters to contribute to the fund which will allow them to have representation at the COP event that will close out this year:

They also call on those that stand with them in these actions to become active dues paying members of the Gullah/Geechee Sea Island Coalition (www.GullahGeechee.net).
