Input Needed Regarding Jasper Ocean Terminal in the Gullah/Geechee Nation
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), Charleston District (SAC) is preparing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to assess the potential social, economic, and environmental effects associated with the construction and operation of the proposed Jasper Ocean Terminal (JOT) in Jasper County, South Carolina. In order to insure that Gullah/Geechee environmental and land rights are not left out of this assessment, Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation (www.QueenQuet.com) was present for the initial hearing on this matter. She provided letters from the Gullah/Geechee Sea Island Coalition (www.gullahgeechee.net) and the Gullah/Geechee Fishing Association (www.gullahgeecheefishing.net) in regard to the cultural heritage of Gullah/Geechee Nation. She also made a public statement for the record:
Please make sure that you get your written comments in to the US Army Corps of Engineers by March 1, 2017. Please include support for the fact that Gullah/Geechees should not suffer any displacement or negative environmental impacts as a result of this project. You can send input via the mean below:

My Queen!! Is there a petition circulating or a form letter we can encourage all to submit? Love. A
Sent from my iPhone
Change.org is a good place to get an online Petition started, makes so easy that those stuck to their cell phones have an easier access to helping. I am no longer on Facebook, a petition would allow me to send out via email. Also, I had a challengeable time locating US Army Corps of Engineers Contact Info to send letter.
Thank you, so much.
Peace Doris!
The contact info to send in email and letters is in the image on the blog. It is a very large image. So, we are not sure if that is why you didn’t see it on your cell phone.
Also, we are quite familiar with Change.org. However, that is not a method by which the Army Corps of Engineers will accept the public input at this time. We need direct letters and emails to them. Email GullGeeCo@aol.com and a form letter can even be sent to you.
Tenki Tenki fa hunnuh support!
Peace Sister A!
I can email you a form letter for sure! Tenki Tenki fa hunnuh support!
Peace,
Queen Quet
