The Bilingual U.S. – Gullah-Geechee Georgia
In the blog entitled, The Bilingual U.S. – Gullah-Geechee Georgia, Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation is pictured although she is never quoted. Interestingly enough, the opening quotation is incorrectly written and is not the actually Gullah/Geechee proverb either. In addition, the article has incorrect numerical amounts for the Gullah/Geechee population and assist in perpetuating separation between Gullahs and Geechees instead of keeping “Gullah/Geechee” united as we are.
Slowly, ourstory is becoming known, but the aspect of our human rights is not being promoted as people remain fixated on components of the culture including language without looking at our existence as a whole.
