We had an outstanding turnout on historic St. Helena Island, SC last week as we stood up for the Cultural Protection Overlay District (CPO) once again! Queen Quet‘s statement that opened up the public comment session is in the link below:
The repackaged plans to remove Pine Island/St. Helenaville from St. Helena’s CPO and enter into a development agreement with the County to build a gated golf resort on the Pine Island/St. Helenaville property in violation of the CPO go before the Planning Commission TONIGHT 5/5 at 6pm at 100 Clearwater Way in Beaufort, SC (Special Needs and Disabilities Building in Burton). (The normal meeting location for the Planning Commission and County Council are under renovation.)
We look forward to seeing you again tonight as we continue to stand up to uphold the law and protect the epicenter of Gullah/Geechee culture! Tenki Tenki fa hunnuh support!
