Sea Level Rise and de Sea Islands Certificated Workshop

Join us for the interactive FREE workshop on climate central tools related to sea level rise. This session will focus on the Sea Islands and Lowcountry of the Gullah/Geechee Nation from Jacksonville, NC to Jacksonville, FL. The session will be led by Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation (www.QueenQuet.com) and Dan Rizza of Climate Central (https://www.climatecentral.org/what-we-do/people/dan-rizza).

This two hour session will require your full participation in order for you to receive the Climate Central Sea Level Rise Training certificate. Over the course of the two hours, you will engage in learning how to use sea level rise tools that can assist you and your community with planning and sustainability efforts. Included in these tools are the ability to print data sheets and maps as handouts for your specific zip code or area.

Queen Quet, Founder of the Gullah/Geechee Sea Island Coalition (www.GullahGeechee.net) will provide an overview on the significance of cultural heritage sustainability and climate action. You will engage with others that are working to protect coastal resources including sites and living cultural resources.
