I just learned of Gullah Geechee today. My family is not from SC. My grandparents were sharecroppers in Mississippi. My older siblings were raised on a plantation, my mother was a product of cotton picking, she was not allowed to attend school because she was required to pick cotton with the rest of her family. I am really interested in learning more about the Gullah people. And one other quick question can any African American join this organization to learn, eventhough I am not Gullah or Geechee?
