Beaufort County Proclaims Gullah/Geechee Nation Appreciation Week!
Beaufort County, SC was the first county in history to proclaim “Gullah/Geechee Nation Appreciation Week” countywide four years ago. St. Helena Island native, Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation (www.QueenQuet.com) was presented with the proclamation for the 2016 countywide celebration during the county council meeting:
