Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation returns to New York City by popular demand as she makes this her second stop in the northeast on the “Gullah/ Geechee Land & Legacy World Tour.”   Queen Quet, the head of state for America’s only indigenous cultural group descended directly from Africans enslaved on the Sea Islands of the eastern United States, will be the vessel for the voices of her ancestors that were brought to North America’s shores. Her visit will offer insight into the unique cultural contributions Gullah/Geechee people have made to American society.
Queen Quet’s histo-musical presentation will bring to life the images captured by photographer Brian “Strong Wind” Williams, during this afternoon in celebration of the survival of Gullah/Geechee traditions in North America.

Adriala Gallery, 57 Putnam Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11238, is “a sacred space for the creation and appreciation of art. It opens to the public as a space for: artistic encouragement, learning and teaching, healing and praying, displaying and representing the beautiful feminine nature of fine art for the spirit.”

The event will open at 3 pm with a one hour VIP reception featuring Queen Quet’s Gullah/Geechee histo-musical presentation.

Advance tickets are required for the VIP reception and presentation and can be purchased online at
