This honor was presented to Queen Quet within days of the celebration of her 14 years as the Chieftess and Head-of-State for the Gullah/Geechee Nation.  Since her enstoolment, Queen Quet has done numerous presentations in Georgetown including the “Gullah/Geechee Rice Festival” and numerous environmental presentations at Hobcaw Barony.  She looks forward to returning to Georgetown to honor the Gullah/Geechee legacy that was created there by her African ancestors that brought the knowledge of indigo and Carolina Gold rice to the region and as a result caused Georgetown to be the greatest rice producing county of the colonies and America.   She is thankful that Georgetown has chosen to celebrate the richness of the Gullah/Geechee culture.
