Black Music Month Edition of the Gullah/Geechee Ezine “De Conch”

The June 2013 Edition of “De Conch” is not only dedicated to “Black Music Month,” but to “Great Outdoors Month.”  The issue contains articles on the environmental work being done in the Gullah/Geechee Nation and how everyone can join in to assist with this.   It is filled with information on the festivals of the Gullah/Geechee Nation and family fun for the summer.

It is time to get ready for the “Gullah/Geechee Nation International Music & Movement Festival™” (www.gullahgeechee.info) and to obtain advance tickets for the many tours and historical and musical presentations for the event.  At the ticket location, you can also pay dues to become a member of the “Gullah/Geechee Sea Island Coalition” and/or make contributions to the festival by having a family listing in the journal or by making a donation to the fundraising effort.   As always, “De Conch” let’s you know about authentic Gullah/Geechee traditions and events and the ways that you can engage in keeping the culture alive.
