Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee NationQueen Quet Celebrates de Gullah/Geechee Ooman pun St. Helena Island

Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation who recently returned from receiving the Living Legacy Award in Washington, DC will be celebrating “Women’s History Month” with special presentations on her home island of St. Helena.  On Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 6 pm, she invites the community to the third event in the “Gullah/Geechee Living Legacy Series” at the St. Helena Branch Library entitled “Celebratin de Gullah/Geechee Ooman!”  Queen Quet will do a histo-musical presentation which will be followed by the CNN International Inside Africa documentary about the Gullah/Geechee Nation.  The event is FREE and open to the public.  The event is sponsored by the Gullah/Geechee Sea Island Coalition.
