Disya Who WEBE: Gullah/Geechee Foundations of Black History at the St. Helena Branch Library

In celebration of “Black History/African Heritage Month,” the Gullah/Geechee Sea Island Coalition in conjunction with the St. Helena Branch Library invites you to “Disya Who WEBE: Gullah/Geechee Foundations of Black History.”

The afternoon of events will be hosted by Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation.

1-2:30 pm CNN International’s Documentary on the Gullah/Geechee Nation

Documentary “This Far by Faith: The African American Religious Experience” Episode 1-“There is a River”
Parts of this documentary were shot on St. Helena Island.

2:30-3 pm Open Mic for Gullah/Geechee and African American spoken word artists, poets, and storytellers

3-5 pm Film “Honeydripper” with Danny Glover and Charles Dutton
